Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, and sesame oil until smooth and well combined.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish and pour the honey garlic sauce generously over the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). For extra glossiness, baste the chicken with pan sauce halfway through cooking.
- Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for 3-5 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve over rice or alongside your favorite vegetables.
Notes
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in oven at 350°F (177°C) for 10-12 minutes covered with foil, or microwave in 1-minute intervals at 70% power. Make-Ahead: Mix sauce and season chicken up to a day ahead, storing separately. Substitutions: Use chicken thighs for more juiciness, or swap honey for maple syrup. For gluten-free, use tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce. Add chili flakes or sriracha for heat.
