Method
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground turkey to the skillet and break it up with a spoon. Cook until the turkey is browned and no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add the spinach to the skillet and stir until it begins to wilt. Pour in the broth or water, cover the skillet, and let the spinach steam for a few minutes until it's completely wilted.
- Season the mixture with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed.
- Divide the mixture into bowls and top with your favorite toppings. Serve immediately.
Notes
Don't overcook the turkey. Use a large skillet to give the spinach enough room to wilt properly. Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed. Leftover Ground Turkey Spinach Bowl can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or frozen for up to 2-3 months.
