  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1-2 tbsp hot sauce adjust to your spice preference
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional, for extra heat
  • 4 oz feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped optional, for garnish

Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper or silicone baking mat
  • small bowl
  • whisk
  • Meat thermometer
  • Oven

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a bowl, drizzle the chicken breasts with olive oil. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Make sure each breast is evenly coated.
  3. Place the seasoned chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching each other.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of your chicken breasts. Always check with a meat thermometer!
  5. While the chicken is baking, prepare the hot honey glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  6. Once the chicken is cooked through, remove it from the oven.
  7. Brush the hot honey glaze generously over the chicken breasts, coating them evenly.
  8. Sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese over the glazed chicken.
  9. Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for another 2-3 minutes, or until the feta is slightly softened and warmed through.
  10. Remove the Hot Honey Feta Chicken from the oven.
  11. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley, if desired.
  12. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Don't overcook the chicken; use a meat thermometer. Adjust the spice level to your preference. Use quality feta stored in brine for the best flavor. Broil for extra caramelization, watching carefully. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after baking. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave. Variations include adding veggies, cream cheese to the glaze, or different cheeses like goat cheese or Parmesan.
