Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup marinara or pizza sauce (optional, for inside or serving)
  • 6 oz thinly sliced salami
  • 6 oz thinly sliced ham
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded provolone or Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
  • extra Parmesan cheese (optional garnish)

Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • Rolling Pin
  • sharp knife or pizza cutter
  • small bowl
  • pastry brush

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a 12x16 inch rectangle.
  3. Spread a thin layer of marinara (if using), then layer salami, ham, mozzarella, and provolone or Parmesan. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
  4. Roll tightly from a long side like a jelly roll. Pinch seam and ends to seal. Place seam-side down on baking sheet.
  5. Brush Stromboli with beaten egg wash. Cut 3–4 small slits on top. Bake 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce.

Notes

Seal the Stromboli tightly to avoid leaks, place seam-side down before baking, and always brush with egg wash for a golden crust. Try variations like veggie, meat lover, or chicken-bacon ranch fillings. Serve with marinara or dipping sauce for best results.
