Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until it's well combined and creamy.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
- Spoon a generous amount of the chicken mixture onto the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll up the triangles, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the point. Gently pinch the edges to seal.
- Place the rolled pillows onto the prepared baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, melt the butter. Brush the tops of the crescent rolls with the melted butter.
- If using paprika, sprinkle a little over the buttered rolls.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the filling is heated through.
- Let the Chicken Pillows cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For best results, ensure the cream cheese is properly softened before mixing. To prevent leaks, seal the edges of the crescent rolls tightly. Customize the filling by adding cooked bacon bits, diced bell peppers, or hot sauce. You can assemble the Chicken Pillows ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the microwave or oven.
