Creamy Beef Alfredo Ziti Casserole

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound smoked beef crumbled or ground
  • 12 ounces ziti pasta
  • 2 cups Alfredo sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh parsley chopped, optional for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  3. Cook ziti according to package directions until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. Drain the pasta and set aside.
  5. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the smoked beef for 5 to 7 minutes until browned.
  6. Drain excess fat if needed.
  7. Reduce heat to low and stir in the Alfredo sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  8. Simmer the sauce mixture for 2 minutes.
  9. Add the cooked ziti to the skillet and toss until evenly coated.
  10. Transfer the pasta mixture into a greased baking dish.
  11. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  12. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  13. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
  14. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

Assemble the casserole ahead of time and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. Reheat with a splash of milk to restore creaminess. Freeze for up to 2 months after cooling completely. Penne, rigatoni, or rotini can replace ziti. Homemade Alfredo sauce can be used instead of jarred sauce.
