Ingredients

  • 2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 6 tbsp creamy Caesar dressing
  • 6 oz provolone cheese sliced
  • 1 cup Caesar-style croutons crushed
  • 1 tbsp butter melted
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp pepper

Equipment

  • Large baking dish
  • Meat thermometer
  • mixing bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lay the chicken breasts flat in a large baking dish, leaving a little space between each piece so they cook evenly.
  3. Season the chicken with the salt and pepper.
  4. Spread 1 to 2 tablespoons of creamy Caesar dressing over each chicken breast, covering the top evenly.
  5. Layer the sliced provolone over the chicken so each piece is fully covered.
  6. Crush the Caesar-style croutons into coarse crumbs and toss them with the melted butter until evenly coated.
  7. Sprinkle the buttery crouton crumbs over the cheese, pressing down gently so they stick.
  8. Bake on the middle rack for 20 to 30 minutes, until the chicken reaches 165°F (75°C) internally and the crumbs turn deep golden brown. Tent loosely with foil if the topping browns too quickly.
  9. Garnish with parsley if desired, let rest for 5 minutes, and serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350°F oven for about 10 minutes to keep the crouton topping crisp. Chicken thighs can be substituted for a juicier result, and a light Caesar vinaigrette can replace the creamy dressing for a lighter version.
